The other day, I was thinking about how life is so very similar to having our family portrait taken. It’s a process for most families, especially with young children. In viewing the proofs, one may find googlie-eyes, tongues waving in the air, someone looking the wrong direction, or bunny ears behind a family member’s head. It’s all a part of the process, the journey, the adventure. I suppose that’s why they schedule forty-five minute sessions.
About six years ago, after viewing our proofs (we bought all of them, by the way), I thought to myself, “How this looks like life!”
The expectation is smiles and perfect poses, but let’s face it. Life just isn’t like that.
Often I find myself putting on my best smile, and hoping for the best. How bad can it be, right?
“Okay, guys, look at the camera. See the camera? Look over there…no, that way. Over there…see…?”
Camera Lady: “That’s pretty good…if you can just turn a little to your left…
How about we try a different pose?…
Always be willing to try something different if what you’re doing isn’t working well. And even then, sometimes the process can become a little tiring –for everyone.
Noah and I look good in the first one.
Perfect picture of Judah…and only Judah!
This is just life sometimes.
And now for something completely different…
“…Just Neil and the boys. I need a break.”
Candid and cute! I can go with that!
“Okay, count me back in!”
“YES! I’ll take it!”
I LOVE THE ADVENTURE…
…I LOVE MY LIFE!
